Research that reaches the table where decisions are made

Our analysts spend as much time with policymakers as they do with datasets. The result is work that answers the questions governments are actually asking — delivered while the decision is still open. Every publication passes the same editorial bar: transparent methods, named authors, and evidence a critical reader can retrace.

8 July 2026 · Dr. Elena Marsh · Director, Energy & Climate

The grid is the climate policy

Targets are abundant; transmission is not. Until permitting and interconnection move at the speed of the projects waiting in queue, every net-zero pledge remains a press release rather than a plan.

Deterrence needs a supply chain

Credibility is measured in shipyards and stockpiles, not communiqués. The region’s security debate keeps mistaking procurement announcements for capability — and adversaries can count.

Trade policy after the subsidy race

Industrial policy is back, and with it a quiet erosion of the rules that made open markets predictable. There is still a route between naivety and protectionism — but it must be negotiated, not assumed.
